Profhilo® is considered a tissue bioremodeler. Like other collagen bio-stimulators, this product allows you to rejuvenate the skin and treat sagging skin, but without adding volume.
Profhilo falls into the category of injectable anti-aging treatments.
This collagen bio-stimulator is a moisturizing treatment based on ultra-pure hyaluronic acid, free from any chemical agents. In fact, it has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market today.
When injected, Profhilo acts on all layers of the skin, replacing hyaluronic acid lost in the natural aging process and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
How it works
During the 30 days following a Profhilo treatment, the tissue remodeling process takes place. Hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates into the tissues. During this period, collagen and elastin are stimulated through the slow release of hyaluronic acid.

What is the recovery time after treatment?
There is practically no recovery time. At the application site there is a small elevation that can last for 24-48 hours, which spreads spontaneously and disappears after this period. As with all injectable treatments, there is a risk of small bruises at the injection site, which are easily camouflaged by using tinted sunscreen or makeup.
We advise not to go swimming for 2 days and to avoid extreme temperatures for 1 week.
When do the results appear?
It is usually possible to see improvements in the appearance of the skin after the 1st session. However, results become more visible after the 2nd treatment session (which is carried out approximately 30 days after the 1st).
How long do the results last?
The results tend to last between 6 and 12 months, depending on the patient and the number of sessions.

What other injectable collagen biostimulators are there?
In addition to Profhilo, there are other collagen biostimulators used, such as Radiesse and Sculptra.
Each of them has distinct characteristics and specific uses.
Sculptra is a dermal filler based on poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that stimulates the body’s production of collagen. It is often used to treat loss of facial volume, especially in the cheeks and temple area. It can also be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles and creases.
Radiesse is a dermal filler based on calcium hydroxyapatite, a substance that also stimulates collagen production. However, unlike Sculptra, Radiesse acts instantly, providing immediate volume and fullness. Likewise, over time, it also stimulates collagen production for lasting results. Radiesse is often used to treat loss of volume in the hands and face, as well as improving the appearance of wrinkles.
