Redefining the silhouette

See the Before and After of a patient who had liposculpture to reduce her flanks and culottes and increase the volume of her buttocks. 

What does liposculpture consist of?

Liposculpture or lipofilling is a technique used to add volume to certain areas of the body by using the patient’s own fat as a filler (in this case the buttocks).

This technique has been used for more than 20 years and has excellent aesthetic and restorative results that are stable and long-lasting. Autologous fat is the best filling material and the least harmful to the body, as it is the patient’s own fat tissue.

What was this patient’s goal?

This patient had localized fat around the waist, especially in the flanks but also in the buttocks. She underwent a silhouette redefinition, combining liposuction and liposculpture (fat grafting). In this particular case, the patient used her own fat to slightly enlarge her buttocks.

How does it work?

In order to obtain fat for implantation, the donor areas (in this case, the flanks and buttocks) have to be liposuctioned.

Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia. During this procedure, a thin cannula connected to a suction device is used with a container that will separate the various strata of aspirated fat into blood, anesthetic fluids and liquid fat on one side and pure fat on the other.

The pure fat obtained will be infiltrated with a micro cannula, subcutaneously or intramuscularly to prevent the fat from being absorbed and to ensure long-lasting results, through minimal incisions in the areas to be treated.
