What is Aquapure?
Aquapure is a non-invasive, multifunctional skincare system that combines different technologies in a single session. At Living Clinic, we use it to provide deep cleansing, remove dead skin cells, impurities and excess oil, while also improving hydration, radiance, texture and the overall quality of the skin.
The treatment includes different stages that may involve AquaPeel, for exfoliation, cleansing and hydration; electroporation, to help water-based nutrients and compounds penetrate the skin; Y-Lifting microcurrents, to improve firmness and facial contours; and Cryo Cooling/Heating, with controlled application of cold or heat.
Although it is particularly used on the face, Aquapure can also be adapted to selected areas of the body and the scalp, for example in cases of excess oil, build-up of dead skin cells or as preparation for other hair treatments. At Living Clinic, we always tailor the protocol according to the treatment area, the characteristics of the skin or scalp and each person’s goals.
What is Aquapure used for?
On the face, we mainly use Aquapure when we want to provide deep cleansing while also improving skin hydration and overall skin quality. It may be particularly suitable for congested pores, blackheads, excess oil, dehydrated skin, uneven texture, dull or lacklustre skin, loss of elasticity, fine lines or acne-prone skin.
On the body, we may use it on selected areas where there is a build-up of dead skin cells, excess oil, impurities or congested pores. A common example is the back in people with oily or acne-prone skin.
On the scalp, we may use Aquapure to help remove dead skin cells, excess oil and accumulated residue. We may also use it as a scalp preparation step before certain hair treatments, such as Hair PRP or Hair Mesotherapy, when we consider this combination appropriate.
How does Aquapure work?
The treatment is divided into 4 stages:
1. Aquapeel
In the first stage, we begin by working on the skin’s surface with AquaPeel, which combines microdermabrasion technology with the controlled application of solutions.
The applicator distributes the solution evenly while helping to remove dead skin cells, sebum and other impurities from the skin’s surface and pores.
This is one of the main differences compared with a more conventional facial cleansing treatment: rather than relying solely on the manual application of skincare products, we combine cleansing and exfoliation with suction technology and the controlled delivery of solutions.
2. Electroporation
We may then use electroporation, which uses electrical conductivity to help water-based nutrients and compounds pass through the skin.
With this stage, we aim to complement cleansing with hydration, nourishment and improved skin radiance.
3. Y-Lifting with Microcurrents
The Y-Lifting applicator uses microcurrents, delivering electrical impulses to the facial muscles.
In practice, we use it when we want to complement the treatment with a toning, firming and facial contouring effect, including areas such as the jawline, lower face and eyebrows.
4. Cryo Cooling / Heating
We may finish the protocol with the controlled cooling or heating applicator.
Cooling can be used to soothe and refresh the skin after the previous stages, while heating may be incorporated into protocols focused on toning and firmness. The temperature can be adjusted according to the skin’s characteristics and sensitivity.
Application Areas
Face
On the face, we can treat the forehead, nose, cheeks, chin and other areas where there is a build-up of sebum, dead skin cells or impurities.
We can tailor the protocol to improve:
- congested pores and blackheads;
- excess oil;
- dehydration;
- uneven skin texture;
- radiance;
- fine lines;
- firmness and elasticity;
- acne-prone skin;
- the overall appearance and quality of the skin.
Body
At Living Clinic, we do not limit Aquapure to facial treatments.
With the body adapter, we can treat selected areas of the body where there is a build-up of dead skin cells, impurities, excess oil or skin congestion.
One example is the back, particularly in people with oily skin or a tendency to develop spots and clogged pores. We can also assess other areas individually.
When there are significant inflammatory lesions, severe acne or another active dermatological condition, we carry out an appropriate assessment first and do not consider Aquapure a substitute for medical acne treatment.
Scalp and Hair Treatment
The scalp can also accumulate sebum, dead skin cells, product residue and other impurities.
With the Aquapure hair adapter, we can perform targeted scalp cleansing, particularly when there is excess oil or when we want to prepare the area for other procedures.
At Living Clinic, we may, for example, incorporate this step before treatments such as Hair PRP/PRF or other hair treatments, when we consider that this preparation may be beneficial.
Aquapure is not, by itself, a treatment for hair loss or alopecia. When there is hair loss, thinning or a scalp condition, we recommend a Dermatology consultation to identify the cause and define the most appropriate treatment.
Expected Results
One of the advantages of Aquapure is that we can see changes immediately after the session, particularly in terms of skin cleansing, hydration, smoothness and radiance. Results are immediately visible, with minimal or no side effects in most treatment protocols.
After treatment, the skin may appear:
- cleaner and less congested, due to the removal of dead skin cells, sebum and impurities;
- more hydrated and smoother, thanks to the solutions applied;
- brighter and more even;
- and, when microcurrents are included, with an additional toning and firming effect.
Recovery and Aftercare
As we use a non-invasive technology, there is usually no significant recovery period and, in most cases, you can return to your normal routine after the session.
The skin may temporarily feel more sensitive or show a mild reaction, depending on individual sensitivity, the solutions used and the treatment protocol performed.
After the treatment, we recommend the most appropriate skincare measures according to your skin and the technologies used in your particular case.

Frequently Asked Questions
What solutions are used with Aquapure?
Aquapure uses specific solutions selected according to the stage of the treatment and the needs of the skin.
PEEL+ promotes gentle exfoliation, helping to remove dead skin cells and other impurities from the skin’s surface.
SEBO+ mainly targets excess sebum, blackheads and dead skin cells, helping to leave the skin cleaner and more balanced without compromising hydration.
REJUVE+ contains ingredients with hydrating and antioxidant properties, helping to nourish the skin and improve its softness, hydration and radiance.
The formulas include ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, Centella asiatica, peptide complex, propolis extract, papaya and Avena sativa, selected to complement the different stages of the treatment.
Is Aquapure treatment painful?
We generally consider Aquapure to be a comfortable treatment. You may feel the suction from the AquaPeel, the stimulation from the microcurrents and the temperature changes produced by the Cryo applicator, but it is a non-invasive procedure.
Based on our own team’s experience during training, the procedure was described as very comfortable.
How many Aquapure sessions are needed?
We do not recommend the same number of sessions for everyone.
The frequency depends on the condition of the skin, the area being treated and the treatment goal. Aquapure can be performed as a one-off treatment to care for and refresh the skin or incorporated into a regular treatment protocol.
For scalp treatments, for example, the frequency may depend on scalp oiliness and any other treatments being carried out.
How long does an Aquapure session take?
As a general reference, a session takes around 30 minutes, although the duration may vary depending on the technologies used, the area being treated and the level of personalisation of the protocol.
Does Aquapure help remove blackheads?
Yes. One of the goals of AquaPeel and the SEBO+ solution is to help remove excess sebum, dead skin cells, impurities and blackheads accumulated in the pores.
Can Aquapure be used on acne-prone skin?
We may use Aquapure in certain cases of oily or acne-prone skin, particularly to help control excess sebum and remove dead skin cells, blackheads and pore congestion.
However, we do not use Aquapure as a substitute for medical acne treatment. When there are significant inflammatory lesions, we recommend an assessment with our Dermatology team first.
You can also visit our dedicated page on acne treatment.
Can Aquapure be used on the body?
Yes. Although it is best known as a facial treatment, Aquapure can also be used on the body.
We may use Aquapure on selected areas, such as the back, when the aim is to address excess oil, dead skin cell build-up or congested pores. Treatment suitability should always be assessed individually.
What is Aquapure used for on the scalp?
We use Aquapure on the scalp to help with cleansing, the removal of dead skin cells and the control of excess oil.
We may also use it to prepare the scalp before certain hair treatments, such as Hair PRP/PRF, when this combination is appropriate.
We do not use Aquapure as a substitute for the medical diagnosis or treatment of alopecia, hair loss or scalp conditions.
Are Aquapure and Hydrafacial the same?
No. Aquapure and Hydrafacial are different systems, although some stages have similar goals.
Both can combine cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration. Hydrafacial uses proprietary Vortex-Fusion technology and, depending on the protocol, may also include boosters, LED therapy and lymphatic drainage.
With Aquapure, we use its own combination of AquaPeel, electroporation, Y-Lifting with microcurrents and Cooling/Heating.
We do not consider one technology to be universally “better” than the other. At Living Clinic, we have chosen Aquapure and personalise the protocol according to the needs of each person’s skin.
Can I have Aquapure before an event?
As Aquapure can provide an immediate improvement in skin cleansing, hydration and radiance, with no significant downtime in most cases, it may be an interesting option before an event.
Even so, we prefer to assess the skin beforehand, particularly in people with very sensitive skin or those who have recently undergone other procedures.
Who should not have Aquapure?
Before treatment, we always check for any contraindications.
The main contraindications indicated by the manufacturer include pregnancy or breastfeeding, certain metal implants or devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators, severe or cystic acne, open wounds or active inflammation, allergies to any of the ingredients in the solutions or to chemical peels, certain facial nerve tumours and multiple sclerosis.
The relevance of each contraindication may also depend on the applicator being used, so we assess every case individually.
Specialists
At Living Clinic, Aquapure treatments are performed by professionals trained in the use of this technology, including specialists in dermatofunctional physiotherapy and nursing.
What is the price of Aquapure treatment?
The price per Aquapure treatment session is €100.
