In today’s world, concern for aesthetics and intimate health is growing. Among the various areas of the body receiving special attention, the Mons Pubis is one of them.
In this article, Living Clinic explains in detail what the Mons Pubis is, as well as the available treatments to reduce the fat of this area, including surgical and non-surgical options.
What is the Mons Pubis?
The Mons Pubis, also known as the Pubic Mound or Mount of Venus, is the anatomical region located in the lower abdomen, above the vulva. It consists primarily of adipose tissue (fat).
The Mons Pubis serves as a protective cushion for the pubic symphysis, absorbing impact during physical activities and sexual acts, providing comfort and protection to the intimate region (both in men and women).
The appearance of the Mons Pubis can vary significantly from person to person, influenced by gender, genetic factors, hormones, and body weight.
How to reduce the Mons Pubis?
Non-surgical treatment: COOLSCULPTING
Coolsculpting is an advanced form of Cryolipolysis that uses controlled cooling technology to target stubborn fat resistant to diet and exercise.
Fat responds uniquely to cold temperatures. During a CoolSculpting procedure, fat cells crystallize and die, gradually being naturally eliminated from the body over the following weeks.
This non-invasive treatment freezes fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by the body, preventing them from returning to the treated area. CoolSculpting is particularly effective for reducing Mons Pubis volume, typically requiring only one session.

Surgical Treatment: LIPOSUCTION (with or without Labiaplasty)
– Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat from the Mons Pubis through small incisions. It is an effective solution for those seeking immediate and significant results.
Liposuction can also be beneficial for individuals who have not achieved desired results with diet and exercise.

– Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty, also known as Nymphoplasty, aims to reduce the size and reposition hypertrophic labia minora.
Hypertrophy of the labia minora can cause aesthetic concerns as well as functional issues such as discomfort during sexual intercourse and physical activities, and challenges with wearing tight clothing.
Labiaplasty is sometimes performed in conjunction with reduction of the Mons Pubis (via liposuction) to improve the overall aesthetics of the intimate area.
While Liposuction reduces the volume of the Mons Pubis, Labiaplasty corrects the shape and size of the labia minora, resulting in a more balanced and harmonious appearance.

Post-Treatment Care
After any treatment, it is essential to follow medical recommendations to ensure proper recovery and minimize the risk of complications. This may include wearing compression garments, avoiding strenuous physical activities, and maintaining good hygiene of the treated area.
